RiverMarket Bar & Kitchen in Westchester offers locally-inspired fare, prepared foods and products sourced from the Hudson River Valley

Owners John Crabtree and Glenn Vogt have opened RiverMarket Bar & Kitchen, the multi-faceted concept located 25 miles from midtown Manhattan and 35 minutes from Grand Central Station, tucked away in the river front Hudson Harbor residential community of Tarrytown, NY.  At RiverMarket, guests experience farm-fresh cuisine and products while looking out at the Tappan Zee Bridge and the scenic Riverwalk on the banks of the majestic Hudson. This new venture allows diners and shoppers alike to explore the local abundance through prepared meals, artisanal products and seasonally-inspired dishes and cocktails. RiverMarket is comprised of the following three aspects:

• Bar & Kitchen: A farms to table-inspired restaurant serving American fare with a Mediterranean flair, with an emphasis on local, sustainable and humanely-raised and grown Hudson Valley products. Seasonal outdoor dining. Wood-burning brick oven. Private event spaces.

• Fresh Market: An upscale gourmet food store stocked with local dairy products, meats, produce and artisanal products.

• Wine & Spirits: A thoughtfully-curated selection of wines focusing on those grown and produced bio-dynamically, naturally and sustainably and also locally produced, small batch, artisanal spirits.

RiverMarket is the latest venture from the team behind the famed Crabtree’s Kittle House in Chappaqua NY. Crabtree is known throughout Westchester and beyond for having revived the Kittle House, a historic 18th century farmhouse-turned-restaurant, private event space and bed and breakfast, and establishing it as one of the county’s most notable dining destinations. Managing-partner Vogt met Crabtree in 1990 and joined the Kittle House as the general manager and wine director. After many years and notable accomplishments, he left to open and manage several high profile restaurants in New York City and Westchester. He was the general manager of the famed Windows on the World and after the tragic events of 9/11, returned to the Kittle House, overseeing a major renovation to the Chappaqua restaurant in 2012 – further elevating the Kittle House’s reputation for excellent food, customer service and its legendary Wine Spectator Grand Award-winning wine cellar.
